I’ve been working in jobs that require high levels of communication and organizational skills for over 12 years. After finishing my M.A. in Philosophy I focussed on film production.
Everyone who has ever worked in film production, whether as a Production Assistant or a Producer, knows that it is crucial to have at least a basic level of understanding of how the other departments work, and that you need to be ready to step in. I enjoy the stepping in part quite a lot, and through this have learned how to do the work of AD’s, of Set Assistants, Electricians and Location Managers as well.
Will I be able to keep your budget in check and make sure contracts are signed?
Yes, I will. And I will be equally able to find locations, get shooting permits, block an entire street, cater for 20 people and get a whole bunch of people to switch off their lights at 11 pm on a Saturday.
